Most days I get emails from members asking questions about PT Distinction's online personal training software, its features and what it can do for them and their clients.

I thought that it would be helpful to address some of the most common questions and fire it out for you to know, just in case any of these questions were on your mind as well.

Q) Can me and my clients use the website and play programs on Apple devices?

A)  Yes, of course. PT Distinction and all the features and videos are optimised for all devices and all makes (including Apple!). It will even format your own custom exercise videos to play on all devices.

The only current limitation is if no internet is available as we don’t have an Apple App at the moment. However if your clients happen to be in the 2% of the world without internet they can print out the programs you make for them with photos and full descriptions of all the exercises and take it with them.

Q) Am I tied in to a long term contract if I subscribe?

A) No, there is no set or minimum term and it is easy to cancel if you wish to.

Q) Is there really a market for online personal training?

A) Google gets over 9 thousand searches every month for the phrases “online personal trainer” and “online personal training” so that would be a………. yes!

Q) My client can’t log in! What am I doing wrong?

A) First thing to check is that they are using the same email address to log in with that you entered when setting them up as your client in the site.

Then check that your email letting them know you have made them a program and giving them their log in details has not landed in their spam box – this is rare but can happen.

Finally check that they are using the correct password. After your first assessment or program for each client is created and you opt to send an email to let them know, that email will have their full log in details including their password. Your clients can then change this password once logged in to their personal section of your site.

Q)  I edited and then sent out the “done for you emails” contained in the site (located in “options” then click “marketing material”) but have not received any response. What shall I do?

A) Many people get emails, put them to one side for later and then just forget about them. Always follow up your emails every few days until you get a response. Use very simple messages along the lines of:

                          …………………………………..

“Hi ……..,

I sent you an email a couple of days ago about my awesome new online coaching service that I think would be perfect for you. I’m just checking you got the message?

                           ……………………………………

You would be surprised how often you a positive response, just make sure you get a response….. However long it takes!

Q) Is it possible to make workout templates on PT Distinction that can then be personalised for each client with similar goals?

A) Yes, go to “build new program phase” and set it up for a new client. Name the client as you would the template (example; Fat Loss Template Phase 1) and give them a made up email address (i.e template1@templatemail.com). Set up your template program using the drag and drop system and save it.

Once saved it is available in your home screen. So, if you want to use it for a client just select the program and click “copy” in the drop down menu. Then just edit it as you like and set it up for your client, then send it.
