Pinterest can sometimes be seen as a forgotten social network. But the truth is that if it is used well, it can be a seriously profitable channel for your personal trainer business. In fact, between 2020 and 2021 Pinterest saw the 3rd most significant growth behind TikTok and Reddit.

This guide will give you some of our favorite Pinterest marketing stats and show you the simple steps you can take to get set up and creating pins.

Pinterest Stats for your Personal Trainer Business

1. Pinterest differs from other social channels and caters to an audience looking for aspirational posts and education. 31% of adults in the US are Pinterest users.

2. If you have a Gen Z target audience, then Pinterest has 21 million users for you to connect with

3. Users of Pinterest like to spend money. Pinterest users are 90% more likely to say they’re always shopping. This can translate to a spending-focused audience who would be willing to spend money on your product after seeing you on Pinterest.

How to set up a Personal Trainer Pinterest business account?

Step 1: Go to the Pinterest Business page.

Follow this link and select “Create account”

Step 2: Create an account

A new window will appear, and you can then add your email address (try and use a business email if you have it), a secure password, and your age. Finally, click on “Create account.”

Step 3: Build your profile

You will now have a chance to enter your business details. First, add your profile image and website domain. If you don’t have a website, select “No”. Finally, add your country and language preference.

If you don't have a company logo, create one on Canva.com

Step 4: Describe your business

This section lets Pinterest understand more about your business. Adding this information will allow Pinterest to tailor content for you. So, for example, if you choose “Sell more products” Pinterest will give you details on how to create a paid campaign to get more clients. Once you are happy with your selection, select “Next”

Step 5: Are you interested in running ads?

Once you have gone through the company profile selection, Pinterest asks you if you would be interested in running ads on the platform. Select “Yes" as it is always helpful to set this up on your account for future campaigns.

Step 6: Where would you like to start?

Good work; the basic setup is complete. Next, Pinterest will ask if you are interested in one of the following:

- Share Ideas (Create a Pin)

- Grow your audience (Create an ad)

- Showcase your brand (Build your profile)

As you need to complete your setup, select “Showcase your brand:" This will allow you to start building your public-facing profile.

Stage 7: Public Profile

You will notice that your username is automatically set, but you can change it in this section. Next, update the “About” section. Keep this brief, but try and use as many keywords related to your business as you can fit in.

Once you are happy that you have added all of your details, select “Save”. You are now ready to start creating content.

Why get a business account for my personal trainer business?

Business and personal accounts on Pinterest are similar at first. But business accounts offer free features made specifically for small businesses like yours. For example, with a business account, you can access the Pinterest Business Hub and Pinterest Analytics, where you can review and analyze your posts. Finally, a business account will allow you to create any type of Pin, which you are unable to do with a personal account.
