The PT Distinction App has thousands of pre-built exercises that you can use in any of your programs that you want to build for your clients. But what do you do when you need to add your own custom exercise?
In this week's Feature Spotlight, we look at how you can easily add your own custom exercises in the PT Distinction App using the custom exercise feature.
Step 1: Go to Your Library
From the top menu, click on Library
Then select Exercises
Head over to My Exercises to see any you’ve already created
Step 2: Add a New Exercise
Click the green Add button
Give your exercise a name
Choose a category (or create a new one using Add New Section)
Uploading Videos and Images
You can add exercise demos in several ways:
Upload a video from your computer (max file size: 1 GB)
Import a video from YouTube or Vimeo (max duration: 30 minutes)
Add up to 4 photos that will appear when clients print workouts
Add a Description and Metrics
Once you’ve uploaded your video and optional photos, you can:
Add a description for your exercise using the notes section.
Set up the results and charting metrics your clients will track.
To do this:
Click the Add button under metrics.
Type in a metric name (e.g. Weight).
Choose the unit of measurement (e.g. kg).
If your desired unit doesn’t exist, create a custom one by typing it in and clicking Add.
Repeat the process to add multiple metrics, like Reps, Time, or Distance.
Once complete, hit Save — your custom exercise is now created and added to your library.
