THE DAD BOD CHALLENGE 2022
Hello, my name is, Lawrence, it is a pleasure to meet you.
I have been in the fitness industry since I was seven years old.
I started my career as an amateur boxer when I was seven and competed until I was twenty-seven.
I suffered a severe injury to my leg when I was twenty years old and went into a state of depression due to the fact this cost me a chance at the Olympic games in Australia.
After gaining over 65 lbs. due to inactivity and extremely poor food choices with little to no activity, I had to turn my health around or else the depression would be the end of me.
I got back into boxing but this time in the form of a coach and I loved it!
I was inspired by the young fighters and all the men and women who showed up everyday to better themselves and be healthy. The team continued to grow in numbers, even building a few competitive champions along the way.
My health: both body and mind were changing. I was happy again; I was starting to live my life and it was time to step it up.
I joined a local gym, hired a trainer to design me a program and a nutrition plan to follow. I started training and the weight kept coming off.
People started asking what my secret was?
They asked if I could train them and teach them to get the results that I was getting.
- I knew at that point I needed to get certified and do this for a career.
- I had lost 80 lbs and was a brand-new man.
- I was 27 years old and turned my entire life around.

I got certified, I became the manager of the gym that I was working for, and I began changing lives.

LIFE CHANGING SUCCESS TESTIMONIAL:
As we approach the end of 2022, I must reflect on this crazy year that has passed. The past few years have been a little rocky personally for me, headed down a path that I never wanted to head down, physically, emotionally and mentally. I knew something was wrong, but just never did anything to change it. Kept talking about things I wanted to do to better myself, but never followed through with anything, figured I was just always going to be miserable with myself.
Back in February/March, Mike bit the bullet for me and got me a personal trainer, Precision Elite Training, coach Lawrence. Even then, the excuses continued, thinking that my past injury and the state of my mental health would never allowed me to move forward in getting healthy. It took a few weeks but we started to train. After my first training session, I thought “Well this isn’t so bad” but I still continued with the excuses missing sessions, not doing my homework, etc. Running 5+ businesses with my better half and having 5 dogs, we both never made time for ourselves (still don’t at times but we’re working on it!), so why would I make time for just myself. Despite having given up on myself, coach Lawrence and his ELITE team members kept checking in, trying to pull me back on track. The numerous words of encouragement, the daily check ins, and I guess the sense of accountability is what kept telling me that I CAN do this, even if it’s just taking an hour to myself a day. The hour that I would normally sit on my ass on the couch, playing on my phone, I could be up, be active and moving! I then started to take walks every now and again, took up swimming so I could get my National Lifeguard Certificate, and trained with coach twice a week.
Summer was fast approaching and with the majority of the businesses peeking during the summer months, my self time got shorter again HOWEVER I was beyond active, stepping 10k+ steps everyday, doing heavy labor with the bouncy castles (more than any weights I’ll ever own) and keeping a healthy mind. Although I may not have trained directly with the team, coach would still check in on me and give me the push I needed. Everything isn’t rainbows and sunshine, there are definitely DARK days that come upon us, especially when you feel your support system isn’t really supporting anymore. So near the end of the summer, when things dwindled down, I got a sense that I had fallen off the band wagon. THAT day, I had given up, BUT coach didn’t let me. He reached out that day and opened up my eye to a whole new way of looking at myself. Life is way to short not to worry about the ONE person that matters most, ME! So I started to yet again work on my active self, training with coach, and even joining a SUSPENSIONIZE class. That class has taught me me so much self control, and strength, I truly recommend it!
Then, one day I get a txt asking to join an ELITE competition, just had to download an app and it would track everything that needed to be tracked. I was sick that week but Coach Lawrence put the team up for a move challenge. I was down for the count the first day but I gave it my all the rest of the week and only “lost” by a small amount of points. It was then when I said, “SEEE you cannnnn do it”. So the next challenge was a Step Challenge, so I told myself, “I gotta beat my coach this time” ! Started getting up early and walking 5-10kms in the morning and sometimes at night. Was I tired? Of course. Did I want to give up? Some days. But I pushed through all the heal spurs, the shin splints and toe cramps and guess what? I BEAT MY COACH! What did all this prove to me, that with a little determination, no excuses and a lot of self care, I can do ANYTHING if I just push through the darkness that tries to set in.
Some of you may or may not know that I am currently down 30+lbs of weight, 2 sizes smaller all around but the real win is my HAPPINESS! It’s not always about the weight loss, but the stability in my mental health that helps me wake up and feel better about myself.
