From leotards and jazzercise to fitness apps and online coaching, I've been dedicated to helping women with their goals from the start of the "fitness craze" (you know, back when "muscle heads" were the only gym members).
My name is Lisa Swanson, and I am the founder and owner of Body & Soul Coaching, an online health coaching business I started to help women over 50 build the confidence and healthy lifestyle they desire.
I decided to start Body & Soul Coaching years ago, on my 50th birthday. After three decades in the fitness industry and running three successful fitness studios, helping hundreds of women with a number of fitness goals, I decided to narrow my focus. Empowering women in midlife became my passion after turning 50 and realizing how much support was missing for these women.
Even more so, I understand the life of a busy woman, a working mom and someone going through midlife. I ran my first studio while being a single mom to two young girls. Managing three businesses, shortly after remarrying and now with teenage daughters, I definitely knew the overwhelming difficulties of trying to balance my life. And now, in midlife, I have faced the same challenges and changes we all face going through the stress of going through many transitions at once, such as my daughters moving out, taking care of my parents, maintaining a healthy relationship, working and more. I've met some amazing women throughout my career who needed guidance on how to juggle everything and take care of themselves so they could show up every day with confidence.
Qualifications
Lisa Swanson began her career in the fitness industry back in the 1980’s; the beginning of the “Fitness Craze”. She quickly advanced in this industry to managing a large health club in the Boston area and eventually opened her own personal training studio.
Before founding Body & Soul Coaching, she grew her mini-empire to owning 3 successful personal training studios, won first place in an NPC Masters Division Fitness Competition, and has successfully helped 1,000’s of women reach their weight loss goals. Lisa became known for her unique gift of being able to quickly adapt any program to meet the needs of her clients.
But there was a missing piece. Although her clients were very successful, she was very aware that women over 50 were still struggling. Their progress was slow and difficult to maintain. Stress levels were high and self-esteem was low. So she began focusing on finding a solution. And this is how Body & Soul Coaching was born.
Lisa is now the most sought-after expert on helping women over 50 crush their weight loss goals in a naturally progressive way that boosts metabolism, burns belly fat, and keeps it off. Before I started with Lisa I struggled with consistently working out. When I did workout, I wasn’t sure where to start or what to do. I had been dieting with no result; I would lose & gain the some 10 lbs. over and over again.

Another bonus was how much stronger and flexible I felt. I’ve also got a lot more energy than I had before starting the program.
Now that I’ve been a client for 3 months, I have lost 11 pounds, 17 inches and 5% body fat!! I have more energy, better balance, flexibility, and more confidence.

I love Body & Soul Coaching! I work with Lisa, and she is awesome. I've been working with her for about 3 years now. I am seeing more definition in my arms, and my legs are definitely becoming leaner and tighter. I am much more aware of my nutrition and how many calories I am consuming as well as what type of foods I should be eating in terms of good carbs and healthy fats. She works with you to find out what is the best schedule and exercises for you so you are set up for success!
